A Christmas tree decorated with a fake tree plant and stuffed animals has been at the Walmart stores in Ontario for more than two years.
Walmart Canada confirmed to Global News it received a complaint in January about the decorations and removed them in February.
The company said the decorations, which include a fake maple tree, were not in accordance with the company’s policy of not using any plant or animal in the decoration.
The Walmart Canada customer who made the complaint said the decoration was not approved by the company, which said it is a new product.
The store said the offending decorations will not be sold until the company “corrects the issue.”
The company also said the customer did not have to pay for the decorations.
